Our team was pleased to announce the news recently that caravans, motorhomes and associated retail stock with an estimated value of £1m had been successfully sold by our Manchester office of specialist machinery and business assets agents, following the administration of Discover Leisure PLC.
As part of our appointment, we were also instructed to sell five freehold sites previously operated by Discover Leisure which was the largest caravan and motor home dealership in the UK, with locations in the North West, North East and Yorkshire.
Our Manchester office staged a retail sale and online auction which included a fleet of 60 new and pre-owned caravan and motorhomes, as well as a large amount of camping and caravanning accessories, fixtures and fittings, plant and machinery.
The online auction hosted by bidspotter.co.uk involved more than 2,000 lots, and more than 1,200 trade buyers and individuals registered an interest to bid – a record number for Bidspotter!
This resulted in all of the lots being successfully sold to more than 400 buyers.
Four of the five former Discover Leisure dealerships – at Burtree Gate, Darlington in County Durham; Portobello Trading Estate, Birtley in Tyne and Wear; Chester Road, Oakmere in Northwich and Malton Road, Flaxton Moor near York – have now been sold.
The 10.5 acre site at Chapel Lane, Coppull in Lancashire is at the stage of “best and final” bids.
The outstanding success of this appointment is testament to our team’s expertise and sector knowledge. We’re very confident of securing successful sales of the two remaining freehold properties soon which will complete a job well done.
